Review | Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Recently I went to London for the 2012 Olympics and whilst I was there I went for a shop. I popped into Boots and picked up this little beauty...

The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick. As I said, I got this from boots and at the moment there is an introductory offer of £5.99 but they normally retail at £7.99 which is quite reasonable.

Colour: The colour that I picked up is called "Lovesick" and is the number 020. Its a really bright and vibrant fuchsia. This wouldn't be a colour to go for if you were feeling shy because you will certainly get noticed with this on. In the stick format, if you look closely you can see some tiny flecks of sparkles but this isn't noticeable at all on the lip. The colours in this range seem to vary on lasting power (so I've heard). The lighter shade such as "Honey" tend to wear or slightly quicker than a really dark colour such as "Lovesick" or "Crush". However, saying that the staying power is just generally amazing. I put this on in the morning and then went about my "daley" (Olympic diving reference for you there!) business i.e eating and drinking and what not and it just didn't come off.

Scent: One of the best things about this product is the scent. It has a really light and refreshing minty scent which I think  is really lovely. Personally, I don't like heavily scented lip products because they tend to make me feel ill but because of how lightly this is scented I love it.

Feel: For a lip stain, this feels soo moisturising. I guess this is because of the balm element of it but I really think that it adds to the product so much. Sometimes, lip stains can be really drying and so when a product has as much stainage power as this does and then to have such a moisturising feel it automatically becomes a winner and something that I would be more inclined to go for over a more drying stain.

Packaging: I think that this is supposed to look like a crayon and I really like that. Its bright and chunky and that gives it a fun feel. To use the product you have to twist the silver bottom and more prouduct comes out the top. I  love the twisty thing because it saves me from constantly having to sharpen it.

Overall: I like this lip stain very much. It has all the things that you could really ever want in a lip product. It has great lasting power, its non-drying, its lightly and nicely scented and the colour is amazing! Can I find any negatives with this? No, I don't think I can.

Haul-aroony

From the title you can probably tell that this post is going to be a haul. If you don't like haul posts then I strongly advice you to click off this post now, quit while your ahead and all that but if you do like haul post then..read away!

I went into to town to buy my work experience clothes. Next week I will be going to a solicitors office to complete my work experience and I had literally no clothes that would be suitable for that sort of professional environment so I picked up a few items that would be a bit more "office appropriate". Firstly, I went to Marks and Spencer. Now I know that you may laugh at me for going there because its not really the place that most teens go to get their clothes but number one: I couldn't care less about what name it says on the label and number two: my Mum wanted to go in there for something and I saw these items and then that was me done meaning that I didn't need to go to anymore shops however that didn't stop from actually going into them.

The first thing that I picked up was this skirt. It was in the sale so it was £10 down from £17.50 and I really liked it. It fastens at the side with the aid of three buttons and if I wear it on my waist it comes down to my knee. I really like this, the colours are so bright and summery and even though outside its not that summery it won't stop me from trying to feeling summery.

I also got another one that was exactly the same but the pattern looked like this:

Next, I got this blouse. Its really cute! The following picture is the best representation of it, it really doesn't do it justice but its a light chiffon fabric with a little black peter pan collar. Its a cute pink colour and the pattern is just the sweetest thing ever. Anything with cats on and I'm sold so I just had to have this. Again this was also in the sale so it was £15 down from £22.50.

And the final thing that I got from M&S was a white t-shirt with this pattern on it:

As later this year me, my Mum and my sister are going to the Olympics my mum insisted that we each get an Olympic themed t-shirt. I like this one the best so I chose this one. My sister got a grey one with a multi-coloured writing that said "London 2012" on it and my mum go a black on with small gold writing that also said "London 2012" on it. This was £15 and buying these actually made me that little bit more excited about the Olympics!

Next, I went to Primark. Oh good old Primarni! I wanted some cheap shoes that went with every outfit for my work experience so I picked up these;

These are some little beige ballerina flats with cute bows on the end. They have a patent finish and I really like that. They were only £5 so a real bargain.

And then, as we were leaving, I saw this necklace and I just decided to buy it because I liked it and thought that it would go with some of the things i had already bought (I know that some people will look at the stuff I bought and then t this necklace and say that they don't go at all but I like them together and really, that's all that matters.)
I then went to Superdrug and got a few things. Here they are:

The first two things that are here are both from Neutrogena and they are the Visibly Clear Rapid Clear Treatment and the Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control (in a nutshell, a spot cream and a moisturiser.) I let you know how I get on with those two later on when I've had a chance to use them.

I also got some make-up items for my holiday. The Collection 2000 Skyscraper mascara in Black and this one is also waterproof (a non-waterproof version is available) and a Rimmel Exaggerate Auto Waterproof Eye Definer. I bought these because I needed some waterproof make-up to wear on holiday. Who wants black streaks down their face whilst people are taking pictures? Not me! This mascara wand is quite different. It has shorter bristles on one side and longer bristles on the other. I haven't properly used this yet so I couldn't tell you what I think of it but once I've got a chance to use it I'll let you know what its like as with the eyeliner. By the way the eyeliner is in 240 Aqua Sparkle.

The final thing that I got was the Sleek Storm i-Divine Palette. As I've said with the other products a review to come on this one with swatches and things. It will probably be up quite soon actually because I'm really excited to write it!

Thanks for reading! Look out for the reviews to come!

Trip Day!!

Good Afternoon!

This is not so much of a beauty post but more of a "What I've Done Today" post. Its not just been a normal day today because that would make for very boring post I've actually done something out of the ordinary today.
As part of some stupid 'let's reward the kids' thing at my school they decided that if you were given an exceptional in your report this year then you were legible to go on this school trip. The trip entailed of a morning of paintballing and then an afternoon at the beach. Now, as some of you may know this weekend , in England, we really haven't been blessed with the most sunny of weathers. In fact its been raining almost solidly for the past couple of weeks. This meant that we couldn't go to the beach because it just really wasn't the weather for it so the teachers decided to take us bowling instead but more about that later on.

(No I did not take this picture, this was supplied by google images because I was an idiot and didn'tactually take any of my own)
I won't beat around the bush here so I'll just say it I was terrified of going paintballing. There were many things about the idea of running around a muddy forest shooting balls of paint at my class mates whilst having the same thing shot at me at high pressure and speed that I didn't like one of them being the element of pain. I don't know weither it was just the fact that my Dad had been paintballing before and I'd seen all the bruises he'd got that put me off or the fact that the boys who were sat in front of me on the bus kept turning around and telling me that they were going to shoot me in the head but its safe to say I wasn't looking forward to it.

After being given our outfits, masks, gloves, hoods and guns we headed out into the forest to, in my mind, face our doom. In the first game I didn't go that far. Mainly because I was too scared! But as the games went on I grew in confidence and actually managed to move toward the enemy and fire a few bullets! Unfortunately though I did get shot a few times. The most horrific being in the mouth :( It went straight through the vents on the front of the mask and straight into my mouth. It really was highly unpleasant I can say that it is not something that I would recommend.

As the games went on we got muddier and wetter and by then end of 4 games everyone was really uncomfortable so after taking about an hour to get two whole coach loads of people changed we all boarded the buses again to head off to bowling.

(I didn't take this one either!)
Our bus full of people weren't allowed to bowl straight away because the bowling alley was too small so we all went to the Burger King that was next door. I didn't have much money at all so I just had a jelly and ice cream that was actually really yummy! We hadn't been eating for long before it was our turn to bowl. I was having copious amounts of fun on the bowling lanes when our teacher came up to us and told us that we had to leave our game because the buses needed to be back. I was outraged that we were being forced to leave a bowling game half played but not being one to argue I picked up my bag and trudged back to the bus.

( I did take this one though! Me and my friend on the bus. Would you believe this was after the paintballing? I managed to re-do my hair and make-up on the bus.)

All in all, I had quite a fun day. However, I don't know weither that was to do with the people that I was with or actually the activities that we were doing but i can safely say that I probably won't be going paintballing again in a hurry! (I'm fully aware that at the beginning of this post it says "Good Afternoon" and now it is the night. This is there because I started this post yesterday and I am now finishing it today. If you were interested this trip took place on Friday 13th. Creepy huh?)

(Good Times!)

What's in my make-up bag?

So here we go. My first ever proper post it's not perfect but I tried my best and I'm quite pleased as its my first go at this. If you were wondering, I never actually did get my camera back so I just decided that until I finally get it back I'll be taking pictures on my phone. Its not as good as my camera but it takes pictures and that's really all that I need it to do. Okay then, let's begin...

This is what is it in my make-up bag. I tend not to carry around too much make-up in my bag. I try to keep what I have in there as minimal as possible just because sometimes make-up bags can be big and chunky and to be honest I have other things that I need to fit in my bag other than my whole make-up collection so this is all I have. But you may wonder why I have basically my whole face of day to day make-up in there and the answer to that is "because I'm lazy." Often, I tend to stay in bed for an extra 20 minutes meaning that I never have enough time to do my make-up in the mornings so I've now taken to doing my male-up on the bus or in the form room at school. Now I know that that is REALLY bad but what can I say? Its better than missing the bus every day!

The bag itself came from Primark. As Primark change their stock fairly often I doubt that you'll be able to get this anymore as I got mine quite some time ago. (Sorry!) But if you go into Primark on your next shopping trip then you may find that they have an even nicer bag in stock at the moment! This bag can't have been that expensive, in fact I think that it was under the £5 mark which really is a bargain. I'm not in love with it but I like the colour combination on the outside and when I bought it i desperately needed a new make-up bag so I just got it on the spot. So yeah, its alright. I'm not in love with it but its alright.
Okay so I'll do this in order of what I put on...

The first thing that I have in here is my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer and my shade is 010 Ivory. I really like this concealer. Its light and fresh but it still has some good coverage. I wouldn't say that the coverage is unfaultable (is that even a word?!) but I don't have particularly dark bags or any really dark blemishes to cover up so it does the job for me. Now I know that the Collection 2000 Lasting Finish Concealer is raved about in the online beauty community but I personally don't like it. I swatched it in the shop and I thought that it was too heavy for me. I prefer something a bit lighter so that's why I got this one instead.

The next thing is another Rimmel product. It is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and again, my shade is 100 Ivory. I absolutely LOVE this foundation. It is amazing! Much like the concealer it is so light and fresh and when I put it on I just feel as if I'm rubbing a watermelon on my face. I know that sounds weird and I don't mean that in the way that its really sticky I mean that in the way that its just so clean and natural. Another thing that I really like about this is the smell. Its one of those products that matches its smell if you know what I mean. In the way that the foundation is fresh and light the scent is also fresh and light.

To set my concealer and foundation I use yet another Rimmel product. Its the Rimmel Clear Complexion Pressed Powder. I have this in 021 Translucent. There's not really much I can say about this powder. I like it, it doesn't leave a chalky finish and yeah..its just..good.

Surprisingly the next product isn't a Rimmel one its in fact No7. This blush is really nice. Its a lovely natural colour (I have this in shade 20 Honey) and its pigmentation isn't too bad either. Its a good
colour for day to day life as it give a nice glow without too much colour and its not too noticeable.

This mascara is actually a new addition to my daily make-up bag. I used to use the Rimmel (surprise surprise) Sexy Curves Mascara but in the summer I prefer to use a waterproof mascara because I get bad hay fever and my eyes tend to water a lot and I'd rather not have mascara streaks constantly down my face. So at the moment I'm using the Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara. Its okay although I think that its better if you have a little more time to spend on your lashes and really get them perfect but it does the job just about when I'm in a hurry (which is most of the time). It doesn't smudge and the staying power is amazing. I cried whilst wearing this once and then I went to the mirror expecting to have panda eyes but nothing had changed! I was very impressed.

These are the Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butters. I use the one on the right in 005 Sugar Frosting more often than the one in the left in 090 Sweetart. I wont go on about these too much because I'm planning on doing a full review of these soon so watch out for that.

Next is the Cranberry Joy Lip Balm from The Body Shop. Again, I don't actually use this one everyday and if I'm being honest I don't actually know why this is in here because I really don't like fruity lip products. They make me feel really ill. I like everything about this lip balm but the smell and I don't think that I can just accept the scent because I like everything else. Its quite sheer and it has little sprinkles of glitter in it that don't show up too much on the lips.

This is a rather weird thing to have in my make-up bag I know and I also don't actually know why this is in here. Its some Wisdom Floss. You may laugh but when you have corn stuck in you're teeth I won't be running to help (I'm totally joking of course I'll give you some floss. I wouldn't let you walk around all day with corn in you're teeth!). I'm not sure I can really give a review on this because its floss I guess all I can say is that its good floss.

The final thing that I have here is just a mirror. Don't ask me where I got this from because I literally have no clue but its just a normal hand mirror and you can get those from most places for quite a low cost.

So that's what's in my make-up bag :) Now I'm ever so sorry but I have to end this post with some bad news. I've decided to delete my YouTube account. I just don't feel like its possible for me to have both a blog and a YouTube. It just won't work because I don't have a camera and I just don't think that I have time to film, edit and upload regular videos as well as blog posts. So, sorry about that but maybe that'll change come the summer holidays but I'm really not promising anything.

Thankyou for reading xx
